Principle Dentist
Dr. Mark Oblak graduated at Melbourne University in 1992 and has over 30 years of experience in dentistry. He began his career working in Tamworth and Brisbane before returning to Melbourne, where he has been the proud practice owner of Vermont South Dental since 1997.
Dr. Mark is passionate about all aspects of dental care, with a special focus on Implants and Cosmetic Dentistry. He continues to advance his skills through ongoing education and training, ensuring he provides his patients with the latest treatments and techniques. As a father of three, he strongly encourages parents to instil good oral care habits in their children from an early age.
Dr. Mark believes that preventive dentistry is the cornerstone of not just good oral health but overall well-being. He is dedicated to educating his patients about the importance of maintaining a healthy oral care routine, helping them establish habits that promote long-term dental health.
Known for his compassionate and patient-focused approach, Dr. Mark takes the time to understand his patients’ needs and delivers tailored treatment plans to achieve the best possible outcomes. His areas of expertise include Implants, Preventative and Restorative Dentistry, Cosmetic Dentistry, Crown and Bridge work, Root Canal Treatment, Extractions, and Digital Braces (Sure Smile).

Dr. Trinh graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2001 and has since gained extensive experience working in both public and private dental practices across Australia, from Darwin to Coffs Harbour and Tasmania.
Dr. Trinh is a compassionate and highly skilled dentist who takes pride in delivering the best possible care to her patients. She enjoys the variety and challenges that come with general practice, providing everything from routine dental care to more complex treatments such as Root Canal Treatment, Preventative and Restorative Dentistry, Cosmetic Dentistry, Crown and Bridge work, Extractions, and Implant Restoration. Her special interest in Children’s Dentistry allows her to create a friendly and comfortable environment for her youngest patients.
Dr. Trinh is passionate about staying at the forefront of dental advancements. She regularly participates in continuing education, ensuring she remains up to date with the latest techniques and practices to provide her patients with the most advanced care.

Melissa is the Practice Manager at Vermont South Dental and has been an integral part of the practice for over 20 years. With extensive experience in dental administration and practice management, she plays a key role behind the scenes ensuring the clinic runs smoothly, efficiently, and in line with the highest professional standards.
Melissa oversees many of the operational aspects of the practice, including regulatory compliance, infection control protocols, and maintaining the systems that support a safe and well-organised clinical environment. Her attention to detail and commitment to best practice help ensure that both the team and patients experience a well-run and professional dental practice.
Having been part of the Vermont South Dental family for more than two decades, Melissa knows the practice inside out. And yes — for those who eventually notice the shared surname — she is also Dr Mark’s wife… which means the practice truly is a family affair!
Outside of the clinic, Melissa enjoys spending time with family and supporting the team that makes Vermont South Dental the welcoming place patients know and trust.
PATIENT CO-ORDINATOR
Anita is a highly experienced Patient Coordinator with a strong background in the health sector. As the first point of contact at Vermont South Dental, she plays a central role in managing the patient journey, ensuring every interaction is handled with professionalism, clarity, and care.
Known for her confident communication style and efficient approach, Anita oversees the day-to-day coordination of appointments, patient communication, and front-of-house operations. She works closely with the clinical team to ensure the practice runs seamlessly, creating a structured and positive experience for both patients and staff.
Originally from South Africa, Anita brings warmth, honesty, and a strong sense of responsibility to her role. She is passionate about delivering high-quality service while maintaining the smooth flow of the clinic.
Outside of work, Anita enjoys spending time in nature and exploring the outdoors. She has a passion for photography, particularly dance and portrait work, and is a proud supporter of the Springboks rugby team.
DENTAL NURSE
Irena is one of the experienced dental nurses at Vermont South Dental and is valued for her warm, caring nature and strong work ethic. She plays an important role in assisting the dentists and helping ensure every appointment runs smoothly while supporting patients throughout their visit.
Known for her kind and friendly personality, Irena helps create a welcoming environment for patients and enjoys being part of a team dedicated to providing high-quality dental care.
Outside of the practice, Irena loves spending time with her husband and their two young children. She enjoys family life, good food, and relaxing days fishing whenever she gets the chance.
DENTAL NURSE
Alley is one of the friendly dental nurses at Vermont South Dental and is known for her gentle and caring nature. With valuable experience in dental assisting, she plays an important role in supporting the dentists and ensuring patients feel comfortable and at ease during their appointments.
Alley enjoys helping create a calm and positive environment for patients, particularly those who may feel nervous about visiting the dentist. Her warm personality and reassuring approach help make each visit a more relaxed experience.

She immigrated with her husband and two kids to Australia in 2009. As a proud supported of the Springboks Rugby Team, she also enjoys following sports in her leisure time. DENTAL ASSISTANT
Since joining Vermont South Dental in 2021, Megan has been dedicated to providing quality care and support to our patients. With a commitment to honesty, trustworthyness with a willingness to continuesly learn, she ensures that every patient feels comfortable and well cared for during their visit.
Outside of work, Megan enjoys spending time in nature, going to the gym, and reading. Athough naturally quiet and introverted, she is always friendly and approachable, with a big heart for both her team and her patients.
